ince have contacted the web sites support about this issue. The issue is again below:
When I try to play a .wma file from a particular website I open it with windows media player10 it tells me that the file extention does not match the current file type do I want windows media player to try to play the file anyways? And I say yes. Then I get the following error:
Windows media player can nnot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.
What I've done so far:
I set my security to medium as per the advice on the troubleshooting page of windowsmedia.
when I started having the issue I upgraded to windows media player 10 because I had 9 at the time.
I have contacted the online support of the website and they tell me everything is fine on their end and the webmaster is able to play the files.
The weird thing is other .wma files I have on my computer play just fine without a hitch.
I am running windows xp with 256 mb of ram and a good sound card. This is a dell computer. For anyone that would like to check this issue out for their selves go to: www.voicecorps.org
After you go to the website click on the link that says audio. When it prompts you to enter a password type in the password buckeye. Note this is not a personal password, this is the websites password that is distributed to all people that want to listen online. There is no username.
Any help with this ongoing problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Theres some settings in your media player options that control playing files on sites, but i've never had that exact problem, it just said to me that it can't play the file, but a settings tweek in the players options sorted it out; just use winamp otherwise.
